Women's March
On October 4th, 1789 a large group of women, as well as some men, demanded bread for their families as they marched toward the city of Versailles. The mob demanded to see "the Baker", "the Baker's wife", and "the Baker's Boy". After hearing the demands of the mob, the King decided he would meet with some of the women. He then promised that he would distribute all the bread available in Versailles to the crowd. After a while, the crowd got angry and stormed the King's quarters. Then the king agreed to address the people from his balcony. He then left and took his family to France. He never returned to Versailles. The mob never got the bread that they were promised.
